Summer 2020 Recap

As summer comes to close even though here in the sunshine state it’s boiling hot, I wanted to give an ode to summer as it is my favorite season next to winter! The whole year has been a bit different but summer especially was different for me and my family! Summer is the time we vacation and visit family up north which is unfortunately on the back burner until regulations change on some things. It’s been a tough season this year.

However some really exciting things have happened this summer! I hired a business coach at the start of summer and she has brought me into a new season of working for myself! This summer all within a couple of month’s Travis lost his job, started an amazing new job, and I left my job to pursue my passion, y’all it’s unreal to think this is our life right now!

So just remember no matter how tough things get there is something better coming! I promise! You just need to believe it!

If you have been looking for the perfect holiday/New Year’s dress look no further the Tucker Dress is the one! I love that the sequins aren’t scratchy and this is totally wearable! The cut again with the faux wrap and gathers gives that ideal illusion of a smaller waist that we all want! This look is one of my favorites, super glam and just such a great festive party look! I made this my own black and white look with the white heels and the sparkly bag and earrings it just screams holiday to me! Cheers!

What would the holidays be without a red dress?! I feel like a red dress is a classic staple to have in your closet and the Andre in Merlot is perfection! Again a great cut for any figure with the detail at the waist! This is glittery deep red and perfect for holiday season! I love the length of all the dresses how they are great whether short or tall, curvy or slender, the cuts and style seem to really work for everyone! I also love the sleeves on this dress, I’m a sucker for a dress with sleeves! The red also is a great shade and tone for any occasion!

Saved my favorite for last! The Jinaan in Navy is my ideal dress! The fit and flare cut and the 3/4 sleeves with the detail and the neckline is something I would wear everyday! I absolutely love the fabric and how it’s easy to style with a fun bag or accessory it’s easy to make your own! Y’all know I love blue too so I naturally love this dress! I definitely channeled my inner Blair Waldorf for this look with the pearl and velvet head band and the bold silver heel and silver bag, again a look great for holiday and year round whether going to the office or out to dinner this dress is a MUST HAVE!!!!

The Modern-Picturesque Dream

Another Wedding Wednesday in the books!

I’m sharing some of the fun professional photos from my bachelorette weekend last month below! I chose to have Amy McKinlay Photography photograph my best babes and I to get some awesome shots to have as memories of the weekend and I absolutely love how they came out! Photos are so important to me, I love to have a slice of a moment that I can look back on and I knew I would want some of the weekend!

We stayed at the Sarasota Modern as I’ve shared before and this hotel is a dream! So clean and chic and a blogger/photographers dream come true! So many beautiful spots and details in the hotel that make it so picturesque and perfect! That was another reason I wanted photos there!

Long story short I highly recommend getting a photographer and taking all the photos for events leading up to your wedding whether that be for the bachelorette weekend, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, doesn’t matter just have someone there to document some of the once in a lifetime moments!

Perfect Neutrals with LC Lauren Conrad

Happy Wednesday babes!

Dresses are always my go to for the summer time, especially here in Florida! Dresses aren’t just the easiest thing to wear with just one and done piece but also something that is breathable and comfortable. I love this look from LC Lauren Conrad as the dress is perfect to wear at the office with flats as you see here, or with a denim jacket and sandals or wedges for the perfect brunch look! It’s so easy to wear and change for any occasion!

There will be more dresses coming to the blog in the coming weeks along with more summer fashion and another round of the T-Shirt Shop Series that we do every summer! There will also be more Wedding Wednesday posts as we are working more on our wedding planning!

Let me know what you would like to see on the blog! Your feedback really helps!

Wedding Wednesday: Picking the Ring!

Happy Wedding Wednesday y’all!

This week we are talking about sparkle! We have gone wedding ring shopping and although we haven’t made a purchase yet, I definitely know the look I’m going for! I have a rose gold, pink morganite, and diamond engagement ring so you can go a few different ways when it comes to rings, as mine isn’t part of a set. I tried a matching wedding band and a few different wraps that I definitely prefer. I also love lots of sparkle and the one I love the most offers sparkle and goes along with the vintage feel of my engagement ring and is timeless. Below you can see the one I love, along with a few others I tried!

You can see below I tried rings that were “too much” and competed with my ring and didn’t complement it. I also tried a more traditional band that went more with my ring. I ended up loving a white gold ring that complements the rose gold and sparkles and wraps the ring beautifully!

What does your dream ring look like? Let me know!

Wedding Wednesday: Picking the Perfect Shoes!

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Now that we have the perfect dress we need the perfect shoes, right?! I’ve always had an idea of the shoes I would wear at my wedding as well as look perfect in my wedding details flat lay (I also photograph weddings so details are so important to me!)

If you’re anything like me you have every sparkly Badgley Mischka heel pinned on a wedding board on Pinterest! I knew I wanted a blush colored heel, something semi comfortable to walk in and a bit of sparkle. We went to Dilliard’s and it just so happened they were having a SALE! I tried every nude and blush heel I could find, closed toed, open toed, sandal, wedge, and heel you name it I tried it. My mom found the perfect pair of shoes thankfully in my size and brought them over to me and and these were all my shoe goals! They are Badgley Mischka, blush, open toed heels with the most beautiful details on the heels! A plus they were marked down from $268 to $80 y’all that is insane! I’m sharing my perfect shoes below along with some other options that I love!

Wedding Wednesday: Saying Yes to The Perfect Dress!

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Travis and I are officially less than a year away from saying I DO, so I wanted to start doing Wedding Wednesdays on the blog! A few weekends ago I went dress shopping at The Perfect Dress Bridal Boutique in Sarasota, FL. I had no expectations going in, just expecting to look around and try dresses on. I didn’t have anything in particular I was looking for at all….I mean NONE AT ALL! I tried on a total of 7 dresses, of all different styles and sizes. On a side note, when you go wedding dress shopping your size doesn’t matter as wedding dresses run super small in size, don’t even look at the size…just my opinion.

Anyways I had the best bridal consultant, Sue, she tried everything from different sleeve options, to veils, headbands, you name it she did everything to give me the best dress shopping experience and that she did! I highly recommend The Perfect Dress for all your wedding needs! Sue helped me narrow the search down to two dresses that were similar in style but very different feels! I did end up saying YES to The Perfect Dress and couldn’t be happier with my choice! I’m sharing some of the dresses I tried on below along with some photos from the bridal boutique. Bottomless Brunch with The Fountain Kitchen & Wine Bar

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

This past weekend Travis and I had the opportunity to attend Bottomless Brunch at The Fountain Kitchen & Wine Bar in Sarasota! We are huge foodies and love brunch so of course we were super excited to start off our Saturday with some yummy food and drinks!

If you have never been, The Fountain Kitchen & Wine Bar is quite literally located right behind a fountain and is located in the historic district of Sarasota, FL. The location itself if perfection located among super cute shops and businesses, this is a great brunch spot! The restaurant has a great patio space, perfect for when the weather is nice, we really enjoyed it! The inside is chic as well with a modern feel and focus on the bar and the wine on the walls, it’s so fun and different! Anyways, let’s talk drinks, first off the bottomless drinks are amazing and you have the option of mimosas or bellinis (my personal favorite). Next up the food, y’all the food what AMAZING! The menu is simple with something for everyone, whether you like sweet, savory, or classic there is something for you! I chose to go with the french toast with fresh berries and bacon, which was some of the best french toast I have ever had! It was perfectly soft and fluffy and the berries and cream were a perfect pairing! Travis ordered the breakfast pizza, if was more than a personal size and topped with eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, cheese and onion, it was Travis approved and he finished the whole thing! To top it all off the service was amazing! Our glasses were never empty and we were always taken care of!

So needless to say we had a great time at brunch on Saturday not only were the food and bottomless drinks amazing, the ambiance was so calming and easy going! It was so easy to enjoy ourselves and take our time sipping our drinks and relaxing on the patio! I would highly recommend checking them out for your next brunch! Check out their who menu HERE they are also open for lunch and dinner!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year beauties!

After a hiatus at the end of 2018 I’m back and ready to take on the new year! Without getting to personal 2018 ended with a bang and not in the best way. My fiance ended up in the hospital for about a week so we couldn’t make our holiday travels, our priority because getting him healthy and we were able to bring him home on Christmas Eve, Woot! He’s on the up and up and doing well, shout out to everyone that sent texts and called and gave us support, especially my parents! Then we had some more things happen before we rang in the new year. We are working through all of this and are taking it one day at a time!

Now for happier news, Travis and I have chosen a wedding venue and have started booking vendors for our big day next year!!! I’ll be doing more wedding blog posts for y’all this year about how we found our venue and the reason behind it.

Now for the first look of 2019, this year I’m having more fun with fashion but streamlining it. Classic and casual has been my style for a long time and that hasn’t changed. These pieces are super affordable and comfortable. The dress is surprisingly from Stein Mart and booties from LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s, the bag is Coach outlet my go to bag for 2018 and necklace from Dillard’s Black Friday Sale. I’m loving the olive green for winter in FL.

This year is a year of change, and I know that’s what everyone says but after everything we went through in 2018 especially at the end I know I am stronger than ever before. I’m confident in myself and being a curvy blogger, yay body positivity! I’m determined to take control of my health and wellness this year and cut out all negativity in my life and only surround myself with the positive! Anyone else? What are your goals for the new year?

Christmas Red Holiday Look

Happy Tuesday beauties!

We are officially one week away from Christmas and I can’t believe it’s here so soon! This year the holiday season has felt like it has come and gone so quickly! Probably because we have had a lot of other things happening this season.

I wanted to share this super festive Christmas look with y’all, it’s great for a party or even Christmas day! The dress is from Old Navy, marked down to $17 and I paired it with black heels from Target and a fun black bag from Banana Republic, and topped it off with some vintage earrings and fun cuff bracelet. This dress just screams Christmas and can definitely be perfect for the office, with flats, or maybe even tights and super sparkly shoes! I just knew I had to share it with you guys before the holidays ended!

Next week will be busy for us between Christmas, traveling, my birthday, my mom’s birthday, New Year’s and our anniversary, December is our busiest month, that’s for sure! We are already setting goals for 2019 and really making strides with planning our wedding! I’ll be getting some posts together for you for all those things too!

For now I hope you have the most wonderful Christmas next week and will catch up with y’all the second half of the week!

Perfect Plum Party Look

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I’m shot some holiday looks recently and wanted to start sharing them since now is the time all your holiday parties and festivities are happening! Right? So to start off I’m going more subtle holiday with this plum dress from Bealls, that’s right Bealls. How fun is this dress? Simple with some fun detail up top making it a little sexy but still great for a work party! This look would even be cute with tights and booties for the office! Overall a super classy look for any occasion and can be paired with tons of different accessories, which is a plus!

I paired this look with my go to black pumps from Target! These babies are my perfect black heel and I need like 5 more pairs. for jewelry I used simple earrings with a fun bracelet both from Dillard’s clearance jewelry sale last Black Friday and a vintage clutch from a hole in the wall boutique to go with our metallic accessory vibe that’s happening!

I can’t wait to share more holiday inspired looks with you all! What are your go to looks for holiday parties and festivities? Let me know in the comments below!

Classic Fall Style with Loft

Happy Wednesday lovelies!

I have another fall look for y’all! This one reminds me of horse back riding with the high neck and tie detail on the top and the blazer with chic elbow pads this look has all the details! This entire look is from Loft minus the shoes! These leggings are amazing, super comfy but also look more like pants than leggings, a big plus for the office! Again the top has fabulous details and can be worn with jeans for a more casual look. The blazer is a staple piece to have in your closet and this one is perfect especially for this Florida weather! It’s more of a sweater material but has the structure of a heavier jacket along with great details again would be great with jeans or even a skirt.

These pieces are great investment pieces and great mix and match items which are worth every penny. For me personally I tend to sway more towards classic timeless pieces and only purchase a few trendy pieces because the classic pieces will always be in style and a better idea to invest in.

What are your must have pieces in your closet? What do you invest in? Let me know!
